OH SEPTEMBER, HOW I LOVE THEE!

The month of September is here!  When did that happen?  Summer seemed to go fast and to me this month is all about transitions especially the change in seasons.  I am a Fall season girl {yes, I capilatized Fall.  It deserves to be!}; other seasons are nice but nothing beats a beautiful Fall crisp morning with the fog barely lifting of the ground with peeks of fiery leaves in between. Oh yes, 'tis the season indeed. And every fall I have a list of things that I most look forward to. This is a compilation of all the things that to me just say 'Welcome Fall'.

Need I say more? My fall officially starts when Starbucks starts selling this delightful concoction. Oh yes, bring on the lattes!

Y'all know I am a food maniac, and yes there is an assortment of seasonal goodies like candy corn (which to me should be considered its own separate food group) and pumpkin pie that come September I will be all over that.

There is one thing about Fall that it is unlike any other season and that is the smells, especially candle smells and the Yankee Candle Autumn Leaves is my favorite! Automatically put me in a good ol' Fall mood.

My #1 favorite candle!

I never take more pleasure in how I dress more than in the Fall season, and September is that transition month when one minute it is cold and the next it is hot. My favorite thing to wear as soon as September arrives? Scarves, boots and BIG HUGE bags. Not sure why but the minute September arrives I immediately have this love for big bags. :) These outfits are so me. Love them!

Fall in the midwest has been a revelation to me because in the part of NC I lived, Fall was a series of dark and light browns and TONS of pine trees. Here in Kansas the fall season is glorious. I am also eargerly looking forward to fall in Minnesota along the Mississippi River because I have been told it is beautiful Cannot wait!

I have high hopes for this fall season, that it will get me motivated because, well-- this is my favorite season of the year.

There is something about running on a crisp fall morning, fog rolling in and that particular smell of fall air.  Fall has the perfect temperatures for running or whatever outdoor fitness you do and I am kicking off the season with a 5K on 28 September.

Y'all know I am having a hard time with motivation and y'all most definitely know I'm not a racing type of girl.  But this seems like a good race and with a totally girlie theme which is right up my alley.

Nothing else to say here!  Last year was not the best year for the Crimson Tide but I have faith that it only served as a kick in the butt to come back strong this year!  Roll Tide, baby!

Now, D is an Iowa State University Cyclone and that is his alma mater, so I also root for them.  Here is hoping that ISU breaks the tradition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.  Man, the need to stop doing that.

And there you have it.  So many things to enjoy in one season, but it goes so fast too, don't you think? What about you? What are you most looking forward to during Fall?

  • I'm with you on all of the above. Am so in love with the fashion of fall & the scents... though you did loose me on football. I think I'm the only person who doesn't care about that. So I'll double up on one of the other things :)

    1. You know, when I went to college (not Univ. of Alabama) we did not have a team so for many years I did not like football. I can't even tell you when I started liking it but always enjoyed Bama games and now I'm a harcore fan! lol

  • September is such a month of anticipation for me. We don't really experience any of the above until October here in the south, but just knowing it is coming is such a wonderful feeling.

    1. Kim, I know fall in the south too well. Which is why I love it here. In NC we had brown colors everywhere and here it is bright oranges, yellows and reds.

    1. I think you will love Autumn Leaves if you try it. Its very fragrant but not in a very sweet way. And I am with you on the allergies. Hopefully this year they wont be bad!

  • I love Fall! I just bought two fall candles (B&BW pumpkin apple is my favorite) on Sunday, and I've already burned through half the length of the candles!

  • Fall is my favorite season. I got married in the Fall, the colors are gorgeous, the air is excellent for running and we get to wear cute boots and sweaters before putting on all of the heavy coats and snow boots. LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • NC weather report - first morning (today) with temps. a bit lower in the seventies, and wisps of fog hanging in the trees. Like you, longing to get into boots and sweaters.

I admire your running efforts, you look to be in great shape girl - good luck on the 28th.
    Happy Fall.
